Our adaptive Learn-to-Swim program is designed to teach water safety and swimming skills to children with autism, anxiety, sensory sensitivities, motor challenges or unique learning needs. Once a child is deemed safe and confident in the water, they will 'graduate' from the program. If approved, they may transition to our North Stars Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA) Swim Team for continued growth and participation in competitive swimming. All of our adaptive LTS instructors have been certified through Swim Angelfish.

Please Note:

A swimmer may be determined not yet ready for the swim team at any point during the session, based on the coach’s professional assessment. This decision is made with the swimmer’s safety, comfort and long-term success in mind. If this occurs, we will provide guidance on appropriate next steps to support continued growth and skill development.

Levels:
At this time, each group is limited to 3 swimmers for individualized attention.

• Level 1 [Beginner]
  Requirements: Swimmer must be safe in the water, able to follow directions, and complete at least one lap of freestyle or another stroke unassisted.
• Level 2 [Intermediate]
  Requirements: Swimmer must be safe in the water, able to follow directions, and have a basic understanding of all four competitive strokes.
•  Level 3 [Teen]
  Requirements: Swimmer must be safe in the water, able to follow directions, and complete at least one lap of freestyle or another stroke unassisted.
